Family Health Center

Quality Family Care Begins at FHC

Quality family care begins at the Community Healthcare at St. Vincent's Medical Center Family Health Center (FHC).

We’re located at one convenient location: 762 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT, 06606. At our Center, you will find a friendly, attentive staff that offers pediatric, adult medical and geriatric services.

All FHC quality care services are available to those in the Bridgeport community who may be uninsured, underinsured, low-income, handicapped, homeless or frail elderly.

Private Practice Model

The FHC brings a private practice model to those who may lack continuity of care, follow-up, and preventive and personalized services. The FHC enables St. Vincent’s to put the mission of the Daughters of Charity, founders of the Medical Center in 1903, into action.

St. Vincent’s FHC welcomes families in the Bridgeport community with the following health care services:

Primary Care

Newborns, children through age 18, adult and geriatric patients are treated by our physicians or nurse practitioners.

Primary care services include complete physical exams, vaccinations, medical tests and general health needs and concerns. Geriatric services for older adult patients are provided on-site in our specialized Geriatric Clinic.

The FHC is staffed by board-certified pediatricians and licensed nurse practitioners that treat newborns and children through age 18. Children are given physical exams, vaccinations and medical treatment when they are sick.

Children being treated at the FHC must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Medical Tests

Patients requiring blood tests, an electrocardiogram (EKG), mammograms, or other medical screening tests are provided with these services on site. A shuttle bus is available to transfer patients to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for further testing as needed, should these tests be ordered by a physician.

Surgical Care

Board-certified surgeons see patients if surgery is required. Patients are seen for checkups before and after surgery. Surgeons also perform minor surgical procedures at the FHC.

Specialty Services

Specialty physicians provide health services at St. Vincent’s FHC for patients seeking treatment of cardiac conditions, infections, neurological disorders and for the treatment or maintenance of other diseases or conditions.
