Dianne J. Auger, Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, St. Vincent’s Medical Center; President, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation

Dianne J. Auger is Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for St. Vincent’s Medical Center and President of the St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation. Auger joined St. Vincent’s in June, 2012. She has responsibility for strategy, advocacy, the Foundation, as well as oversight of St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services, an affiliate of St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Since joining St. Vincent’s, Auger has brought a fresh perspective to the critical planning needed to enhance the organization’s  position in the state as the leader in the transformation of healthcare delivery. She has proven herself to be a strong advocate for St. Vincent’s on legislative activity at a time of great turmoil and challenge to the entire healthcare industry. Because of her visionary management style, she is currently participating in the Ascension Leadership Academy.

Prior to joining St. Vincent’s, Auger served as regional chief executive officer with the American Red Cross, Connecticut and Rhode Island and interim regional chief executive officer for the Greater New York Region. There, Dianne managed delivery of service, fundraising, government relations and operations of the largest strategic region in the country, serving 13 million residents. 

Dianne is no stranger to the needs and issues of Fairfield County and its residents.  Born and raised in Bridgeport, she has spent much of her career close to home.  Prior to her 13 years with the American Red Cross, Dianne was director of business development and administration for Ahlbin Centers for Rehabilitation Medicine in Bridgeport, vice president of marketing and development for the Discovery Museum and vice president, market segmentation manager for People’s United Bank in Bridgeport.

After earning her MBA with a concentration in management and marketing from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Dianne would later serve as director of corporate relations and annual giving for the University from 1992-1993.  She is currently vice-chairman of the Board of Directors for Sound View Community Media in Bridgeport and is a member of the Bridgeport Rotary Club, where she is a past president.

With extraordinary success in both for-profit and non-profit endeavors, Dianne has earned much recognition both professionally and personally.  She has been the recipient of several awards, including the American Red Cross National Presidential Award for Excellence, the Bridgeport Regional Business Council Susan L. Davis Women’s Leadership Award and the Friends of Leadership Greater Bridgeport Award.  Dianne lives in Stratford with her husband Joe and their three children.
