Calcium Scoring at St. Vincent's

Calcium scoring is a low-cost, safe, noninvasive CT scan that allows us to see calcified plaque in the arteries. If your coronary artery calcium (CAC) score is high it could indicate that you have a significant and life-threatening blockage. Diagnosing the early onset of coronary artery disease (CAD) can save your life.

Who should consider Calcium Scoring?

Two out of three adults are at risk for heart disease. You should consider your calcium score if you are:

  • Male age 45+
  • Female age 55+

Be sure to get your annual physical checkup and talk to your doctor about Calcium Scoring.
