St. Vincent's Residents’ Achievements


 

St. Vincent’s Internal Medicine Resident Dr. Deborah Akanya Wins First Prize at the 2018 American College of Physicians CT Chapter Resident Poster Competition

Dr. Deborah Akanya, a third year resident in St. Vincent's Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, won first prize at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Physicians, Connecticut Chapter, in the Resident Poster Competition on October 19, 2018 which was held in Hartford, CT.  This academic competition included 200 presentations from all internal medicine residency programs in the state.  She was informed at the meeting that in addition to her First Prize she is invited by the American College of Physicians to present her work at the National Meeting being held in the Spring of 2019. 

 

 

Drs. Iradat Amusa and Deborah Akanya Recognized as Young Achievers at the National Meeting of the American College of Physicians

Iradat Amusa, MD (left), and Deborah Akanya, MD (right), both residents in St. Vincent's Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, were recognized as "ACP Young Achievers" at the 2018 National Meeting of the American College of Physicians in New Orleans, Louisiana. This recognition is given to selected residents for their scholarly achievements during medical residency.

 

 

 

Dr. Deborah Akanya Wins First Prize at the American College of Physicians CT Chapter Resident Abstract Competition

Dr. Deborah Akanya, a second year resident in St. Vincent's Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, won first prize at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Physicians, Connecticut Chapter, in the Resident Abstract Competition in October 2017. This is an academic competition for all internal medicine residents from all programs in the state and included over 240 submissions. In addition to her taking first place, Dr. Akanya will be presenting her work at the National Meeting of the American College of Physicians in the Spring of 2018.
