St. Vincent's Medical Center and the Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care offer a rejuvenating Yoga Program for cancer survivors undergoing active treatment and those who have completed treatments within the past two years.
Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years to improve physical and emotional well-being. Research on yoga conducted with cancer patients and survivors yielded improvements in sleep quality, mood, stress, cancer-related distress, cancer-related symptoms and overall quality of life.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Certified yoga instructor Susan N. Kiley will lead cancer patients in physical movements, as well as instruction on breathing and meditation.
