The staff at St. Vincent’s work hard to keep you safe while you are here. The team members are licensed to provide security services by the State of Connecticut.
The Security Department ensures the safety and protection of patients, visitors, employee, and institutional property through the enforcement of policies and procedures. The department responsibilities include the overall security and safety of the Medical Center as well as off-site locations and parking sites. These services are provided on a continual 24-hour, seven-day per week basis through the integration of security personnel and equipment.
The Security Department operates as a service-driven department in accordance with Core Values in order to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors as well as protection of both private and institutional assets.
Our officers come from a wide variety of disciplines. Our collective backgrounds include 100+ years of law enforcement experience, 30+ years of firefighting, and 20+ years in Corrections. We are criminal justice program graduates and students, former and active military, campus security, and EMS. All officers are trained in aggressive behavior management, handcuffing, pepper spray and control techniques with an emphasis on compassion and safety.
