Patient Advocacy Representative

The Department of Patient Relations is here to help patients, their families and visitors at St. Vincent's Medical Center. As advocates for you and your family, patient representatives can:

  • Listen to and follow up on your concerns or complaints
  • Answer questions or direct your request to the right hospital departments
  • Arrange for special services or direct you to resources in the community

Patient and Visitor Information, St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, ConnecticutIn 2007, St. Vincent’s Medical Center created a Patient and Family Advisory Board (“PFAB”) to serve as counsel on a variety of issues related to providing patient/family centered care. PFAB acts as an advisory committee to the Medical Center Board of Directors, administration and staff.To reach the Patient Advocacy Representative, please call (203) 576-5164. 

Patient Family Advisors (PFA) are specially selected and trained volunteers who function as key members of the health care team in helping to create an exceptional experience for patients and families. PFAs meet with patients and families and also attend staff meetings to share stories and work with staff to ensure that patient experience remains a top priority in the daily work of the unit.
