October 30, 2006 – St. Vincent's Medical Center is sponsoring a free talk open to the general public on "New Treatments for Hearing Loss" as part of its "Listen & Learn" Lecture Series. The talk will take place on Thursday, November 16th from 4-5pm at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, in Trumbull, CT.
Featured speaker, Dr. Michael Waltzman will focus on the anatomy and physiology of hearing, diseases of the ear causing hearing loss, and the analysis and treatment of hearing loss. Dr. Waltzman is a native of the area who graduated from Weston High School in 1983 and Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT in 1987. He earned a Masters degree and doctorate in Neuroscience at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996 before going on to receive his medical doctorate from Chicago Medical School in 1999. His internship in general surgery was performed at NYU Medical Center and his residency training in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at NYU Medical Center. Dr. Waltzman’s clinical interests include hearing and hearing preservation, sino-nasal surgery and head and neck cancer surgery.
A question and answer session will follow his presentation, and light refreshments will be provided.
