St. Vincent's Immediate Health Care Center Opens In Monroe
A new St.Vincent's Medical Center Immediate Health Care Center has opened at 401 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe, according to Syed Hussain MD, Medical Director of the St. Vincent's Immediate Health Care Centers.
The new walk-in center is open:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-7:30pm
Saturdays 9:00am-7:00pm
Sundays 9:00am-5:00pm
No appointment is necessary.
The Monroe location is the fourth site to open as part of the St. Vincent's Immediate Health Care Centers, which include walk-ins in Bridgeport, Fairfield and Shelton. The centers are designed to provide care and treatment of most non-life threatening injuries and illnesses.
Patients can walk in for treatment of routine problems such as:
Cuts
Lacerations
Strains
Sprains
Flu
Upper respiratory infection
Asthma
Poison ivy
Tick and other bug bites
X-Ray
Free blood pressure checks
"The St. Vincent's Immediate Care Centers have been embraced by local communities where they fill a gap in care with walk-in services," said Dr. Hussain. "Monroe is a growing community that will benefit from easy access to convenient, high quality medical care on a walk-in basis."
St. Vincent's also recently opened an expanded Bridgeport facility at 4600 Main Street in a new office building across from Brookside Shopping Center.
Dr. Hussain said that a physician is always on duty in each center. In addition to treating common injuries and illnesses and offering flu shots, meningitis vaccines, and immunizations, the centers perform corporate, school and sports physical exams. Occupational Medicine and physical therapy services are also available.
No appointments are needed, and most health insurance and credit cards are accepted.
A grand opening will be announced soon.
