BRIDGEPORT, CT, 2007 - Baby Boomer health and wellness will be the focus of the many St. Vincent's screenings and information booths at the upcoming 2nd Annual WICC 600 "Boomers And Beyond" expo set for Thursday, September 20, 10 am to 5 pm at the Trumbull Marriott Hotel. The public is invited to attend free of charge to take advantage of the many health care screenings, demonstrations, exhibits and other activities designed to put the spotlight on Baby Boomer health, retirement and lifestyles. The day-long expo will also feature talks by St. Vincent's physicians and give-a-ways for the entire family. Activities Among the many free screenings that St. Vincent's is offering at the Expo will be Mammography (appointment is necessary by calling 203-576-5500); Depression screening (mental health professionals will be available to discuss prevention, warning signs and treatment of depression one-on-one); Body Fat Analysis; Balance (assessing fall risk); Cholesterol and Glucose measurement; Blood Pressure; Cardiovascular Risk Assessment; and Skin Cancer checks. All the above screenings will be free with the exception of the Cholesterol and Glucose testing, which costs $18. St. Vincent's staff will be on hand to perform screenings and discuss results. St. Vincent's booths also include representatives from Club 50 including the new Boomer Group; the Stroke Center, Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Special Needs Services, Sleep Center, Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services, Cardiology, St. Vincent's Immediate Health Care Centers, Swim Across the Sound Women's Imaging Center, and St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound. The many booths and screenings will be staffed by nurses and other health care professionals from the St. Vincent's Health Services system.
