WorkCare offers a wide array of special programs to support the diverse needs of our clients:
Hearing Assessments are provided at all WorkCare offices. In addition, WorkCare's Bridgeport office includes audiometric testing capabilities in a certified audio booth.
Audiometric Testing within a Certified Audio Booth (Bridgeport)
In this controlled environment, highly accurate hearing assessments may be performed, in accordance with such regulatory agencies as the Department of Transportation, NIOSH, and OSHA. When performed on an annual basis, these assessments can identify reductions in hearing sensitivity, which in some cases may be determined to be work-related.
Plant and Facility Tours
An important key to providing care of an occupational injury is to understand the employees' working environment. At WorkCare we strive to better understand our clients' work environments by performing plant and facility tours. These tours, at no charge, enable our medical staff to better understand the employees work area and functional job requirements. This information is invaluable in treating a work-related injury and to assessing an applicant's ability to perform their job functions prior to hire.
Spirometry (Lung Function)
Spirometry is the accurate measurement of a person's lung capacity, pulmonary reserve, and airflow. Many factors may affect breathing capacity, including smoking, asthma and other pulmonary diseases, exposure to fumes, smoke, cold air, and others.
Spirometry may be used to measure an individual's medical condition to safely wear a respirator, or may be used to determine if an on the job exposure to fumes, smoke, or other environmental factors is responsible for decreased lung function.
Random Drug and Alcohol Selections
WorkCare employs a sophisticated computerized random test selection program which ensures a valid, Department of Transportation-compliant selection process. Our approach ensures that all selections are deemed fair and objective. We maintain all records regarding random selections, and driver pool size, with all information made readily available for audit and review.
Certified Medical Review Officer
All drug test results are subject to a strict review process. Our physician Medical Review Officer maintains active certification as required by Federal and State agencies. Test result integrity is ensured as a result.
