Patient and Visitor Information, St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, ConnecticutA strong Pastoral Care presence provides another supportive touch distinctive to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Here, expectant mothers are treated with unrivaled care.

At St. Vincent’s, staff members of the Pastoral Care Department provide an important dimension of total patient care. We believe in serving the total health needs of all patients and their families.

Because of this belief, our Chaplains stand ready to provide spiritual care and comfort to you and your loved ones, just as our physicians and nurses care for your physical health. We want to assist you and the members of your family in whatever way possible to make your stay here a time of physical and spiritual well-being.

Ministers of all faiths and denominations are most welcome to visit. During the preadmission process, if you indicated, a member of your church, synagogue or mosque has been contacted for you. A member of our staff will be happy to assist you at any time in contacting your clergy.

The Medical Center Chapel is located just off of the Main Lobby area. It is open 24 hours/day to all patients and visitors for prayer, meditation and scheduled religious services. The Chapel’s services are also accessible to our patients from their rooms on Channel 54 of the closed circuit television.

The Pastoral Care office is located just outside the Chapel. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. After normal office hours, should you have a need to speak with a Chaplain, you can dial the hospital operator or ask a nurse to contact the On-Call Chaplain.

Morning and Evening Prayer is heard overhead at 8 am and 8 pm. 

Daily Mass is celebrated weekdays at 12:00 pm, 3:45 pm on Saturday and 7:30 am on Sundays in the Virginia O’Brien Fortin Chapel located on the Main Level of the Medical Center. Patients may view the daily Mass from the room TV on Channel 54.

Sacramental Ministry - Holy Communion distributed daily to patient rooms
