Meet the Cardiothoracic Surgery Team
Nationally recognized - best in class
St. Vincent's Medical Center’s experience in cardiac surgery began in the mid-1970s as the field was just developing. The experienced team at St.Vincent’s Regional Heart & Vascular Center, led by Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery Rafael Squitieri, MD, Medical Director of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery Albert DiMeo, MD, and cardiac surgeon Daniel Rose, MD, have the necessary skill and training to handle the most complex cardiothoracic surgeries performed today.
The team also consists of five full-time physician assistants who are in the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working directly with the surgeons to care for our patients. In addition, we have an experienced cardiology, nursing, respiratory, case management, and rehabilitation staff specializing in the care of cardiac surgery patients.
The team has saved countless lives by perfecting the most complex heart surgeries, including aortic replacement surgery, with success well above the national average. How can we help you?
