St. Vincent's Bariatric Surgery Center is Recognized as “Center of Excellence®"

St. Vincent's Medical Center has been approved as a Bariatric Center of Excellence ® by the Surgical Review Corporation in support from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Bariatric or weight loss surgery helps clinically obese patients by surgically restricting food intake or interrupting the digestive process in order to promote weight loss.

"I would not go to a Medical Center that was not a center of excellence if I needed Bariatric surgery," said Douglas A. Ross, MD, Chairman of Surgery, and Vice President of the Surgical Service Line at St. Vincent's.
