Internal Medicine at St. Vincent's

St. Vincent’s internal medicine physicians are trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. These physicians are often referred to as “internists."

They should not be mistaken as “interns,” the designation for medical doctors who are in their first year of residency training. Internists are qualified physicians with extensive postgraduate training in internal medicine. 

Internists at St. Vincent’s are highly skilled in the management of patients who have diseases or conditions affecting different body systems. Our internists care for both hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Many are full-time hospitalists, a category of internists who do not conduct a separate private practice.
