Intensive Care Services
St. Vincent’s intensivists are critical-care internal medicine physicians able to provide comprehensive medical care to patients whose illnesses or injuries require close monitoring in a cross section of disciplines. Our intensivists’ expertise and services extend to ICU patients whose conditions are extreme and life threatening, such as:

- Acute infection
- Recovery from major surgery
- Surgery complications
- Severe respiratory distress
- Myocardial infarction
- Open-heart surgery
- Neurosurgical trauma
Our fellowship-trained Intensivists are able to draw on St. Vincent’s leading-edge technology, equipment and resources to respond on a 24-hour basis to the emergency needs that can arise at any time from these and other situations and conditions. Intensivists closely manage their patients' care from admission to discharge, and are the main contacts for referring physicians, With exceptionally skilled ICU nurses and access to a multidisciplinary team of specialists with whom they can quickly collaborate as required, our St. Vincent’s intensivists provide an extraordinary level of critical care that has measurably improved patient outcomes.
