Cancer Committee
St. Vincent’s Medical Center’s cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commision on Cancer. The accreditation is based on a rigorous evaluation of cancer services, and proves that St. Vincent’s cancer care program achieves national guidelines for high quality, patient-centered care. St. Vincent’s is proud to provide our patients with the best in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Working as a Team
Cancer care requires a multi-disciplinary approach. The members of our Cancer Committee represent a the wide range of services and specialties offered in our hospital, including oncology, radiology, pathology, nursing, physical therapy, genetic counseling, pastoral care, and nutrition and wellness. Committee members work together to monitor our program activity, establish goals, and ensure that our high standards of quality patient care are continually met.
The Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care
The Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care is accredited with commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
Criteria for accreditation include a relationship with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and a representative from the ACS is a member of our Hospital Committee on Cancer.
