The Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care is based on the multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The diagnosis of cancer can be the most frightening time in a person’s life.

At St. Vincent’s Medical Center we’re here to help you and guide you through the diagnosis. Our team led by medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgical oncologists work collaboratively to determine which combination of individualized treatments offers the most optimal results for the patient.

Complex cases are presented in an open forum and multiple specialists review the necessary case information to reach a consensus of opinion.

Our Cancer Center is the focal point to all the oncology services, which means that diagnosis, treatment, support and survivorship programs are coordinated in one area, allowing our team of specialists to focus more easily on the patient’s total care.

The Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care team provides patients with safe, compassionate, high-quality multidisciplinary cancer care with the philosophy of treating the whole person, mind, body and spirit.

The Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care is accredited with commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.  

Criteria for accreditation include a relationship with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and a representative from the ACS is a member of our Hospital Committee on Cancer.
