Services Provided
The Acute Rehabilitation Unit is a ten-bed inpatient unit providing a comprehensive team approach to help individuals maximize their independence in a variety or ways. We have two private rooms, as well as specially designed two-bed rooms that allow privacy during visiting hours and social interaction with roommates at other times.
There is a registered nurse 24 hours daily to administer medication, provide rehabilitative nursing treatments, and to monitor medical status. Therapy is provided seven days a week; however, on the weekends the duration of sessions is shorter than during the week. Rehabilitation services provided are specific to the patients served. Treatment and education is specified to meet each patient’s age, medical acuity, medical stability, impairments and activity limitations. Our services are tailored to meet each patient’s participation restrictions, psychological status, cultural diversity, individual goals and intended discharge environments.
Our location in St. Vincent’s Medical Center allows for timely attention to any acute medical needs that arise (including but not limited to: medical services, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, and pharmacy services). If the 10 East rehab team identifies additional patient needs that cannot be met in our setting, we will provide access and/or information regarding appropriate alternative resources.
