Swim Across the Sound
Now a year-round series of special events and activities that culminate in the Swim Marathon each summer, Swim Across the Sound leads the race against cancer in Fairfield County. Each year the Swim raises more than $2.5 million and helps 20,000 cancer patients and their families.

Proceeds from Swim events fund 34 cancer, screening, prevention and patient-support programs. Some of its best known initiatives include the Swim Women's Imaging Center, which provides no-cost/low-cost mammography screening and Mobile Mammography, the Teen Smoke Stoppers Program and the Swim Prostate Cancer Institute.
