In Celebration Of Nurses Week
To St. Vincent's Nurses - Nurses Trusted To Care:
Every day you make a difference in our patients' lives. You care for patients and their families when they are most vulnerable. You keep them safe, advocate on their behalf, and teach them self-care. Our patients share the intimate details of their lives, their fears and their hopes. In return, our patients look to us to provide the comfort, reassurance, compassion and understanding they need to cope with the challenge they are facing.
This is the "art" of our profession. This is the role we play as a member of the care team, and our role is indeed a privilege.
Nurses' Week, May 9-13, 2011, is a special time to reflect on and recognize the many contributions of our nursing profession. As such, we are taking this opportunity to offer the nurses of St. Vincent's Medical Center, Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services and St. Vincent's Special Needs a special "thank you" for all you do to provide high quality and safe care to our patients and their families.
We would also like to honor and thank all the nurses in our community for their dedication and commitment to meeting their patient's needs.
As nurses, we are proud to lead this Medical Center and this staff of dedicated caregivers.
Our best wishes,
Susan L. Davis, RN, EdD President/CEO
Dale G. Danowski, RN, MBA Vice President, Patient Care Services
