 Susan Loiacano
Susan Loiacano has been working in the health insurance industry for more than 15 years. She has extensive knowledge in provider relations, contracting, medical management and claims payment.
Susan’s family has had much experience with St. Vincent’s Medical Center (SVMC). In 2004, Susan’s mother was an inpatient for eight months before her death, and the family had many positive and negative experiences during that stay. The staff of SVMC became a part of Susan’s family and the facility a second home for them. Almost 2 years after her mother’s death, Susan’s father was in SVMC for a routine surgery. During his post op in the recovery room, he had a heart attack and passed away.
When Susan heard about the Patient Family Advisory Board she just knew she needed to become part of the group. She feels that in honor of her parents she would like some positives to come out of all that she has endured. Her hope is that she can share her experiences and help those who might have similar circumstances in the future.
Susan lives in Shelton with her husband Dominic, two daughters, and a dog named Molly. Her other interests are reading, traveling and spending quality time with her family and good friends.
