The Mission of St. Vincent's Medical Center is to continue Christ's healing ministry by continuing the works of its founders, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louise de Marillac and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. St. Vincent's Mission Statement and Core Values guide it in carrying on its activities every day to meet the needs of the sick, poor, homeless, handicapped and frail elderly in the greater Bridgeport area. Commitment to its Mission and beliefs enables the Medical Center to reach far into the community to provide health education, wellness programs geared to all ages, pastoral ministering to the bereaved, and cancer screening and assistance programs. All facets of healthcare at St. Vincent's, from the stages of conception to natural death, are guided by the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services set forth by the National Council of Catholic Bishops.
