Vice President and Chief Resource Officer

Brandon Schwarz, MS, is vice president and chief resource officer for Ascension Health’s northeast region, which includes St. Vincent’s Health System, Seton Health in Troy, New York, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, New York. Part of the Resource and Supply Management Group, Mr. Schwarz is based at St. Vincent’s. Mr. Schwarz is responsible for the region’s supply chain management function, including the development, promotion and implementation of strategies that engage physicians, clinicians, administrators and senior executives.

Mr. Schwarz joined Ascension Health in March 2011 coming from a 17-year career in supply chain management, including healthcare consulting at his own company, Cambridge Supply Chain Management, and with Accenture. His work has helped companies improve healthcare services, increase operating margins, improve utilization and meet regulatory requirements.

Mr. Schwarz earned his bachelor’s of science degree from Northeastern University and his master of science degree from The Massachusett Institute of Technology (M.I.T). He is a member of the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and the Association for Operations Management. He has co-authored several articles in professional publications.
