- Awarded Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award by the American Heart Association.
- Certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission on Healthcare Organizations & State of Connecticut. Received American Heart Association Gold Award.
- Awarded by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) a full three-year accreditation with “commendation” for Cancer program.
- Joint Commissioned-certified for joint replacement program in both hip and knee categories – 1st hospital in New England and one of only 33 hospitals in the country to receive certification (January 2008)
- 1st Hospital in state to Go Green, by adopting non-toxic cleaning products and building materials.
- Approved as a Bariatric Center of Excellence ® by the Surgical Review Corporation in support from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
- Have become the first hospital in Fairfield County and only the third in the state to receive the designation as a Baby-Friendly™ Hospital by the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) through their global Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI).
