Academic Affiliations

St. Vincent’s Medical Center is proud to have joined with the Quinnipiac University School of Medicine to create the third medical school in the state, with the first class scheduled for a Fall 2013 enrollment. Under the five-year agreement, St. Vincent's medical staff will work with the leadership of the School of Medicine to design the clinical components of the curriculum and academic policies and procedures; recruit physicians to teach students; and ensure the high quality of the educational experience. 

The new School of Medicine's focus will be on primary care and educating physicians as members of the patient's healthcare team.

St. Vincent’s also has academic affiliations with two other medical schools -- the University of Connecticut and New York Medical College for the training of residents.

In addition to our own St. Vincent’s College, St. Vincent’s Medical Center is also affiliated with numerous educational institutions through Connecticut for educating nurses, pharmacists, social workers, therapists and other healthcare support staff.
